The New Zealand Government has embarked on an ambitious four year program (Government Procurement Reform) to transform its procurement performance. The reform is being led by the Ministry of Economic Development and includes a suite of initiatives organized under the four work streams of achieving cost savings, building procurement capability and capacity, enhancing New Zealand business participation, and improving governance, oversight and accountability.
Mr. Richard May is the Practice Manager for PMMS Consulting Group in New Zealand and was the founder and former CEO of PMMS Asia. His extensive corporate experience includes manufacturing, project, business, purchasing and supply management in Canada, US, Australia, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Richard will talk about his experience on public procurement in New Zealand and the insights that can be applied in the Hong Kong context.

GS1 Hong Kong Supports Wireless Services Value Chain Cooperation (WSVCC) ProjectHong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA) and Hong Kong Wireless Development Centre (HKWDC) have established a Wireless Services Value Chain Cooperation (WSVCC) platform in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) of Mainland China. This project aims to reinforce the collaboration in the area of mobile & wireless technology inside the PRD, as well as to raise the awareness and enhance the development of Hong Kong wireless applications & solutions in Mainland China.
A briefing seminar will be hosted in August to announce the project details and recruit the Hong Kong application developers and industry practitioners to join the project. In the seminar, we will introduce services provided by WSVCC and how to apply for the subsidized services from the WSVCC platform. GS1 Hong Kong Supporting Seminar - 「電動產品及電子設備廢料(WEEE)指令與電動產品及電子設備所含有毒物質限制(RoHS)指令的執行」研討會歐洲委員會公布的「電動產品及電子設備廢料」(WEEE)指令與「電動產品及電子設備所含有毒物質限制」(RoHS)指令(2002/95/EC)已在歐盟按時間表分階段施行, 根據WEEE 指令的時間表，由2005年8月13日起，生產商必須履行回收、處理及循環再造廢料的財務責任，為有關產品提供保養，並且履行標籤及標誌義務以達致由 2006 年12 月31 日起，實行回收及循環再造／再用廢料的目標。美國香港電子商會特舉辦是次研討會，香港貨品編碼協會亦是支持機構，目的為加強業界對WEEE/RoHS指令有更深的認知及有效地執行。
